Sometimes an emergency can occur out of hours or at the weekend when the dental clinic is closed, but provided you are a registered patient we can usually arrange an out of hours appointment for you. Please call the dental clinic and listen carefully to the pre-recorded message.
You may need urgent dental treatment if you are experiencing any of the following:
Provided you regularly visit the dentist, then emergencies are usually few and far between, but it certainly makes sense to be prepared for such an eventuality. It helps to keep a dental first aid kit at home which should contain a few essentials before you can get to your dentist. Painkillers such as paracetamol or ibuprofen are an obvious choice but other things such as an antiseptic mouthwash and cotton wool pads to stem any bleeding should be included.
