PRGF®-Endoret® Bone Grafting

Here at Novocare Dental we pride ourselves on offering the very latest in dental technology to ensure that our patients benefit from the best possible treatments for their specific dental problems. As a result we’re pleased to be able to offer a contemporary, game-changing tissue and bone regeneration procedure known as PRGF (plasma rich in growth factors].

What exactly is PRGF?

When our bodies are injured in any way, cellular signals or proteins are released and these encourage the injury’s repair. The PRGF technique separates the proteins, which are responsible for the healing of the wound and the regeneration of tissue, from the blood plasma. A dose of these proteins are then applied to the treatment area to accelerate the repair process.

PRGF Endoret technology can be used for:

  • Regenerating bone and tissue around implants
  • Sinus elevations
  • Vertical growth
  • Post-extraction areas
  • Intraossesus defects
  • Crestal expansion
  • Treatment of periodontal defects

New hope for dental implant patients who were previously deemed not suitable candidates
You may have been disappointed in the past to be told that dental implants were not a suitable alternative to replacing your missing teeth, with the reason being that you did not have sufficient bone or bone depth in your jaw bone. Dental implants rely on a process known as osseointegration whereby the titanium implant fuses with the bone in the jaw to create a strong and sturdy platform to support the area surrounding the implant, much like a natural tooth root. PRGF technology now
offers fresh hope to patients who don’t have sufficient bone to support a dental implant.

The benefits of PRGF when used in conjunction with dental implants

  • Regeneration of bone around dental implants
  • Regeneration of bone in post extraction sites
  • Regeneration of bone in bony defects
  • Enhanced osseointegration of implants
  • Increased success rate of dental implants
  • Faster healing time between different stages of surgery

How does the procedure work?

Once Dr. Sonny Oke has decided to use the PRGF technique he’ll need to take a small sample of blood from you. The sample is then placed on a centrifuge where centrifugal force separates the plasma rich in growth factors (proteins) from the patient’s blood sample. This is then applied to the area where the healing and regeneration of tissue and bone is required.

This exciting new regenerative technology allows for the body’s own resources to heal and repair itself. Tissues are regenerated efficiently and without any side effects, which in turn lowers the period of recovery for dental implant and gum surgery. With healing and recovery taking less time post surgical complications, risks of infection and pain are also greatly reduced.

If you’ve been turned down in the past for dental implant surgery then why not give us a call on 01923 817942 and book a consultation. We’d be only too happy to discuss your options and answer any questions. With the help of PRGF you may well be able to have your smile back after all.
